Making of golden syrup

Golden syrup is the treacle made from sugar and water. It is used as an ingredient for making cakes. It is also one of the ingredients for making Traditional Mooncake. Golden syrup is best made a few months before you plan to bake the mooncake.

Ingredients:

Water is half the amount of sugar used. Pour both ingredients to a pot. Add 2 or slices of lemon to the water.
Used high heat to boil water. When it is rapidly boiled, lower  heat to the lowest (refer to picture) and let it simmer till thick. Test by pouring a teaspoon of syrup into a bowl of water. If it did not separate then it is done.
